By now you are probably aware that Dean Smith is shortly stepping down from the role of County Commissioner for Northamptonshire. He has led the county for almost seven years and has ensured that the county has developed and grown as well as leading through the pandemic and getting scouting back on it’s feet. He has done a fantastic job of ensuring Scouting is offered to as many young people as possible in a safe and supportive environment. A huge thank you to Dean for his continued work in Northamptonshire and I am sure that there will be opportunities for groups and districts to thank him personally.
Now the process for searching for the next County Commissioner is about to begin. There is a search group that includes people from within and external to the county, they will encourage applications and nominations and be part of the selection process. Attached is the search pack which describes the role of the County Commissioner and what we are looking for. If you think the role is something you might consider then please apply but if not please nominate whoever you think would make a good County Commissioner for Northamptonshire and take the county on the it’s next step.
