The current Support Team Leader is Steve Rolt. He provides the overall management and direction of the team, working closely with the County Lead Volunteer and the Chair of the County Trustee Board.
The county support team follows the national template on the support that it provides to the county. Below is a schematic overview of the county support team and the specialised functions that it provides. Each team is described in detail below the schematic.
The county support team are always looking for new members to assist in the services that it delivers.
Communications Sub Team
Previously known as the media team, this small team of specialist volunteers provides all the county communications support, both internally and externally.
It is this team that edits and circulates the County Newsletter every Friday evening at 5pm. The county newsletter is the primary means of communication within the county and is a must for any adult in Northamptonshire Scouts. The communications team are often found at county events taking photographs and videos of what is occurring for both internal circulation and promoting Scouts to the external media.
The sub team leader works very closely with the administration team overseeing the website content.

Fundraising Sub Team
This small team has responsibility for fundraising for specific county projects.
Community Engagement Team
This sub team has two main functions
First, it provides a link to external people of influence such as Members of Parliament and the local councils. In doing so it links into Districts as required so any support is more locally focused.
Second, it oversees/manages countywide projects when provided by external partners. A good example of this is the current Naseby Project that has a countywide remit but is primarily linked to the Naseby Battlefield Trust. Naseby Project - Northamptonshire Scouts

Administration Sub Team
This team provided beyond the scenes support to all of the internal county governance meetings:
County Trustee Board (CTB), County Risk Management meeting (RMM), County Finance and General Purposes Committee (F&GP) and the SJLC Centre Management Committee (CMC).
It also manages a number of large county events such as the Annual General Meeting and the annual St George’s Day Awards.
Another strand of the administration team work, is linked to the county website in ensuring it is kept up to date and relevant.

Members of the support team
Some volunteers, because of their role are not allocated to a sub team but are a part of the general core support team. Examples of this are the County Safeguarding Advisor and the County Safety Advisor. Also, members of the CMC are listed within this core group.
The county support team is significantly involved with the Sir John Lowther Training & Activity Centre (SJLC) at Glendon. The county support team leader is the operations manager for the centre and is the chair of the Centre Management Committee. The three linked team are:
SJLC Sub Team (operations)
This team is centred upon the office function of SJLC where both paid staff and volunteers work closely together under the team leader who is the Manager of SJLC.
The team provides all the direct support to ensuring the centre operates effectively including bookings, cleaning and general maintained of the site. It should be noted that employed staff and line managed by the Chair of the CTB.
Lowther’s Knights Sub Team
Lowther’s Knights and are a group of volunteers that provide direct service to the SJLC by undertaking general maintenance, leading on development projects and providing volunteer staff to large scale events at SJLC.

SJLC Instructors Sub Team
This team is made up of those volunteers that support the activities in an activity that requires an authorisation nationally, a scout permit or with the direct approved of the County Lead Volunteer. The activities are:
