5th Kettering had a once in a lifetime experience.
Following Team GB’s success on the BMX track at the Tokyo Olympics, I wrote to Adrenaline Alley for contact details for the two champions as I thought possibly a visit or a Zoom meeting or something would be fab for the kids.
Instead, we were invited as VIPs to the welcome home event for the two champions. We were asked to pick two young people to present flowers as well. Also, one of our Cubs had his 10th Birthday and to make his day both Champions autographed his BMX helmet.
What an inspirational experience. All our young people were impeccably behaved and gave a fantastic representation. We were very proud of them. Charlotte and Declan were very exciting role models for all the young people from 5th Kettering Scout Group.
