As a parent or guardian of a Scout, there are a number of areas where you can help us.
There are lots of ways you can get more involved with Scouts as a parent, carer or family member. From helping out occasionally on a family rota or playing a vital role behind the scenes, to stepping up as a leader, our volunteering activities are as varied as you.
We’re talking tidy uppers and tea makers, session planners and Zoom navigators, fundraisers and treasurers, and all round team players to support our young people.
The good news is you shape what you do and the time you have to give. Scouts happens when a lot of us give a little (and no, you don’t have to be a Scout or outdoors expert to volunteer).
Parent Rota
A Parent Rota is a voluntary rota of parents and family members who help out at Scout Group sessions.
You can commit to as much, or as little, as you like. Your local Group may ask you about your skills so they can use yiu in the most productive way. You will need to be Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checked which your Group can sort out for you.
Ask your local Group about the Parent Rota.
Gift Aid
If you are a tax payer, ticking the Gift Aid box on your child’s membership form will allow your local Group to reclaim the tax back at no cost to yourself.
