Explorers are the fourth section of the Scouting movement. Right from the time of Baden-Powell, there have been arrangements for young people who wanted to continue after their time in the Scout Section, and in 1967, Venture Scouts were formed from the existing Senior Scout and Rover Scout Sections.
Along with the usual Badges, Staged and Activity Awards, there are also the Higher Awards. These require a higher level of commitment, greater tenacity and a chance to move outside your comfort zone while achieving something that is recognised both in Industry to help stand out when trying to get a job, and university to help stand out when trying to get a place.
