Northants Scouts’ Marathon walk will be held in September 2017 and is aimed at all Sections of the association within Northants. The Beaver and Cub Section will have the opportunity in this first year to participate locally to their base organising their own marathon walk of either 3 or 6 miles which may be on either 30th September or 1st October 2017. This will then be rewarded by the issue of a sectional specific Marathon Walk badge. The Scout Section have a 13 miles route and Explorer Scouts, Network and Adult Members have the opportunity to participate in a full Marathon route of 26 miles, each of these routes will start and end at Grendon Hall on 30th September 2017. Both of these routes will be way-marked to reduce the risk of getting lost. Scout section Teams should be made up of between 4 and 8 scouts with one Adult Leader whilst Explorer Scout / Network / Adult Member Teams can be a combination of participants but must be no less than 4 and no greater than 8 in number. There will be no entry fee for this event to any Team who wish to participate, whether they be Beavers participating locally or Adults attending the Full Marathon event centred at Grendon Hall.
